We actually have way more places on our "Gotta Visit This Destination Before We Die" than we'll ever be able to get to, but in just a few days, we head out west to get to one of the important-but-not-impossible ones: Yosemite National Park.
Several years ago I gave Bob a book filled with amazing black and white photography by Ansel Adams. Little did I know how that, along with a Ken Burns documentary on Yosemite, would light a spark in him that just didn't go out.
Last fall we got serious about this trip and started making plans. We didn't quite get to the part about the physical training that would enable us to climb Half Dome, but we did make our airline reservations.
This blog will serve as a way for us to share our experiences with you, as well as keep us from forgetting the magic that we are sure to find. Stay tuned. There will be photos, sketches, journal entries and maybe even some poems coming in the next two weeks as we truly get away from it all.
So glad you get to have this grand adventure together. Looking forward to finding out how you go about showing and telling us all about it.
